"A new rock ‘n’ roll darling is born”

This was Roskilde festivals description of the Danish rock band, HIGHWAY CHILD, when they played the festival in 2007. In the last years they’ve gained massive respect for their explosive live-shows and they go on impressing everyone that has seen them live.

The rumours of a new high-energetic live act that worshipped the old rock ‘n’ roll deeds to the fingertips, spread in the music business and obviously to the bookers of Roskilde festival, who heard the band, loved what they heard and hired them the same night.

“This band should end up in the same league as the best garage rock bands of our time” (Roskilde festival programme 2007)

HIGWHAY CHILD is more than just a massive discharge of energy on stage. On March 23, just eleven months after the release of their debut album “On the old kings road” the band is ready with their second album “SANCTUARY COME”.

The debut consisted of 11 uncompromising rock ‘n’ roll tunes with mind blowing intensity from start till end. On “SANCTUARY COME” Highway Child seem to have skipped the often quite uncertain or self repeating second album and gone straight to the more confident and innovative third. It is clear already from the opening song that new nuances and references have inspired Highway Child in both their song writing and expression. The song writing has become more tuneful and the expression and the production are more psychedelic than the debut. The bands preference to the 60’s way of producing shines through and especially the title song Sanctuary come, shows that Highway Child have gone through a colossal development in a very short time from “On the old kings road” to “SANCTUARY COME”.
