Kirsty McGee is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who started performing on the Manchester band scene when she was fourteen but then moved onto the acoustic music scene where she has built herself a reputation with well-crafted original songs. In 2000 she won the Northwest songwriting competition organised by the Buskers' Ball. Kirsty is also an environmental protester, being involved in the demonstrations against Manchester Airport's second runway.

She usually performs in a duo with Mat Martin.

Kirsty and Mat formed the Hobopop Collective in 2007 as a response to their experiences with the music industry. The ethic that governs hobopop productions is one of respect and genuine enthusiasm for music and people.
