My Propane

It’s 2010 and we live in the best of all possible worlds. It can’t get any better, Gottfried. This is what a dream come true feels like, right? Sure. Take a look around: we spend hours on FaceBook & myspace and we pretend to check our mobile phones when we meet our neighbour in the lift so we don’t have to speak. We insult people online and we never pick a fight when we get abused in the real world. We jerk off on YouPorn and we don’t get out and get some. We’re isolated. We don’t fall asleep not because we’re busy partying but because we’re so compressed. Worried with future, bills, jobs, school, the endless useless exams of organized society. We’re frustrated with what we got and envious of what we don’t have - mostly shit we don’t need. We’re kept busy and unchallenged with a constant stream of bullshit we’re being force-fed by the media. We have lost contact with our core. Everything that makes us natural - whether it is Love, Sex or Anger, you name it - has been vilified, has been turned into a mere medium to sell chocolate and toothpaste and video games - or it has been beaten down to become sterile and innocuous, irrelevant. We follow role models that we’ve been sold for cheap. Something’s gotta give. We need to go back to basics - connect as people or be lost in our ego-trip forever. Let the dirt out, the very part that makes us what we are. Get naked, speak.  What is your fuel? What makes you tick, my friend? What is your propane?  Bring it out. Show it. Paint it, write it or play it. Fuck with it. Communicate. Throw that TV out of your bedroom window - be your own rock star.    There’s an ambition - 5 people from across Europe play music that reacts to this - instead of using frustration to the end of self-combusting, mass-murder fantasies or shoplifting. Tired of listening to stuff they don’t like and tired of having to listen to people who listen to stuff they don’t like, this became not about what is generally accepted as success, fame and poses. This became about making a statement: My Propane Actively collaborating with photographers, visual artists and designers, My Propane blends rock and electronica with the purpose of making music that wants speak directly to the stomach, reconnect with people, ignore the diktats, not conform while not giving a fuck of looking anti-conformist, abandon over-abused topics that have transformed Rock into a sterile sequence of self-loathing/alienation/doom cliques, and celebrate it instead for what it really is - the primal medium to bring out the the intimate, personal, aggressive, sensual energy that lies within everyone when you scrape underneath the surface. In the wise words of the Governor: Stop Whining. In the wise words of Mrs Ciccone: Express Yourself.
